Introduction

The Killinaboy Mapping Group was established in 2008 to trace, map and record as far as possible the inhabitants of the civil parish of Killinaboy.

The Group has documented the occupants/owners of most of the dwellings in the 51 townlands in the parish for the last 150 years approximately, in some cases for a longer period. Regretably it was not possible to include recently built houses.

The names of the householders provided may be the owners, occupiers or rated occupiers of the houses. It is difficult to distinguish these categories. In some instances, the owners or the rated occupiers didn't live in the house. The Group regrets not being able to include some of the newer dwellings in the parish.

The number shown on the map for each dwelling corresponds to the number shown on the list of householders for each townland. The red line shown on the maps indicates the townland boundaries.

Usually the Griffith Valuation Books provide a lowercase letter after the number to show a dwelling. However, it will be noted that in highly populated areas, such as Commons South and Corofin village, this practice is not followed and that letter is replaced by a figure.

The Group has shown the capital letter 'A' before the number given for Non-Griffith houses. Where houses have been sub-divided, as in Church Street in Corofin, a capital letter is shown after the number. It should also be noted that many adjoining houses in Corofin have been amalgamated over the years.
